🔒 TL;DR — SnoopBlock collects ZERO browsing data. Everything stays on YOUR device. We only store
your email and payment status for billing purposes.
1. Who We Are
SnoopBlock is a Chrome browser extension that blocks trackers, detects session recorders, prevents AI
data collection, and alerts users about privacy threats in plain English. This privacy policy explains
what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what we never collect:
- Browsing history — We never know which websites you visit
- Page content — We never read or store what you see on any page
- Tracker detection data — All detected trackers are stored locally on your device
only
- Click patterns or behavior — We do not track how you use websites
- IP addresses — We do not log your IP (except incidentally during payment
processing)
- Personal identifiers — We do not create or store any user profiles
3. Data We DO Collect
We only collect the minimum data required for billing:
3.1 For Free Users
Nothing. Free users have zero data sent to our servers. All tracker stats, detection
results, and preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device.
3.2 For Pro Users
When you purchase a Pro license, we collect:
- Email address — To send your license key and payment receipt
- Payment information — Processed by Razorpay (we never see your card number)
- License key — Stored in our database to validate your Pro status
- Plan type and expiry date — To manage your license validity
4. How Data Is Stored
4.1 On Your Device (chrome.storage.local)
The following data is stored locally on your browser and never leaves your device:
- Total trackers blocked (count only)
- Tracker category statistics
- Detected tracker details (names and descriptions)
- Whitelisted sites (sites where you disabled protection)
- Your license key (cached for offline validation)
- Extension preferences and settings
4.2 On Our Servers (Firebase)
The following data is stored on our servers:
- License keys and their status (active/expired)
- Email addresses associated with purchases
- Payment transaction IDs (from Razorpay)
Our servers are hosted on Google Firebase and are subject to Google's security practices and
certifications.
5. Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment gateway. We
never see, store, or have access to your credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details.
Razorpay's privacy policy applies to payment data: razorpay.com/privacy
6. Third-Party Services
SnoopBlock uses the following third-party services:
- Razorpay — Payment processing only
- Google Firebase — License key storage and validation only
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services on our website or in our extension. We
practice what we preach.
7. Chrome Extension Permissions
SnoopBlock requests the following Chrome permissions:
- declarativeNetRequest — To block tracker network requests
- storage — To store your stats and preferences locally
- activeTab — To detect trackers on the current page
